If you're managing an edit infrastructure for a mid-to-large post facility, you're probably not setting up Mimiq on one machine at a time. This post covers everything Mimiq offers for facility-wide rollouts: deploying the app, activating and managing licenses, locking down the user experience, and setting up Workspaces so your editors never have to touch a config file.

PostLab 26.2 brings five features users have long asked for, most of them about keeping Team Bundles fast and nimble. Here's what's new.

Obviously, moving files around doesn't stop after the camera offload is done. Why not drop everything to LTO tape while you're at it?

It's that week of the year again. Hedge HQ is getting geared up (and psyched!) for IBC26, our hometown show. This time around we have something special to celebrate. our 10-year existence!

Starting with Media Composer 2026.8, bin locking in Ultimate will require a NEXIS, and third-party storage means upgrading to Enterprise. It's a money grab, and it's mostly going to hurt Avid. Why we saw it coming, what it actually costs, and why nothing breaks today.

We're nearing the halfway point of 2026. Here's a look at what we shipped over the past few months.

Sharing a license key is something you might need to do from time to time. But you probably only want to give access to your Hedge apps for a limited time. With Shared Licenses, you can do exactly that.

There's a quiet rumor going around that LTFS is on its way out. It isn't. Here's why, and why the confusion is understandable.

In the middle of Soho, London’s long standing post production heart, you’ll find ENVY. Across two decades, ENVY has evolved to become one of the world’s leading end to end post-production facilities, known for cutting-edge digital post services including DIT and media management, grading, VFX, editorial and more.

Getting your successful transfers confirmed in a Transfer Log is great, but what if you need an overview of a whole day, shoot, or even an entire year? From now on, that's a walk in the park with OffShoot Reports.

If you’ve been following this blog over the past few months, you’ll know the Mimiq team has been on a mission to add a wealth of conveniences around Workspaces. Today’s blog is a look at how we got here: a little recap, and an introduction to the final piece of the puzzle: Workspace Groups.

Sometimes, app updates are not about a single new feature but focus on raising the bar for the overall user experience. We call these quality-of-life updates. This year's first major PostLab release is such an update.

Why we’re not going to NAB…

Metadata is often easily lost when transcoding your camera footage to proxies. ALE files to the rescue!

When we started out building Hedge a decade ago, I never thought I’d find myself writing a 2025 Year In Review blog. Here we are 🙂

Hedge 22.2 introduces seamless integration with iconik's cloud MAM system, solving the metadata disconnect between camera originals and proxies. By generating iconik-compatible sidecar files during offload, your assets maintain their metadata throughout the entire workflow, whether uploaded immediately or processed later. This bridging technology supports flexible workflows for DITs, post houses, and anyone planning future MAM adoption. Plus, Hedge Pro users gain fine-grained control with per-preset sidecar generation and a preview of the new ASC-MHL standard.

Hedge 22.1 introduces Elements, a groundbreaking metadata solution developed over two years with production partners VICE and DPG Media. This feature transforms how metadata travels through production pipelines by allowing custom fields within transfer presets. Unlike complex "space shuttle" interfaces, Elements appears only when needed, prompting users to add context-specific information before transfers begin. Whether you need to capture production IDs, color space values, scene descriptions, or automated data, Elements ensures that crucial information accompanies media from capture through post-production, bridging the gap between data handlers and editors while maintaining Hedge's streamlined workflow.
