November News!

Hey there,
Winter's coming, so we're about to wrap up the year. Since last time we spoke, we've been working on quite a bit of new stuff that we'd love to tell you about:
OffShoot on the iPhone
iPhones have finally caught up with iPads when it comes to enabling high-speed offloads to and from external storage. That means it's high time to bring OffShoot Solo, our mobile version of OffShoot, to the iPhone as well.
With OffShoot Solo on your iPhone or iPad, you carry a small and energy-efficient DIT station in your pocket, making it perfect for shoots where you have to pack light and can't bring a MacBook Pro. Just bring a USB hub, a card reader, and an external drive (or two), and you're good to go. Batteries not included ;)
If you already have a copy of Solo on your iPad, this is a free update and available in the App Store.
PostLab: Media Composer
Fresh off the press, PostLab now supports Media Composer. Meant for all of you that are not on Avid's Ultimate plan and thus use Mimiq for bin locking, PostLab now allows you to collaborate on the cheaper plans, too. We'll post a blog about it soon, but you can already check out the good stuff in the meantime:
Download PostLab 25.5
Also new in PostLab are Document Statuses - a much beloved feature of PostLab Classic that we've brought back in all new glory:

New in OffShoot
Keeping your gear clean and in good order is a given, but keeping your camera media in good order is less well-known. That's why we've worked with OWC to bring their maintenance tech Innergize to OffShoot. If you use OWC media, you can now directly check a card's health and sanitize it to get it back into optimal shape. Ideally, you do so before each shoot - especially if you're using rental cards.
Don't forget to check out the Offload Reports beta - Beta 2 will be available soon
Connect Webhooks
A lot of you are using platforms like Zapier, Clickup, and Slack for hooking up systems and keeping track of what is happening. To aid with that, Connect now offers webhooks. Imagine automatically tracking card names in your production management system, or getting a Slack notification when a transfer fails? The sky's the limit.
Codec news!
As we'd expected when Nikon acquired RED, there has been some movement toward bringing R3D and NRAW closer. The first result of that is that EditReady and FoolCat now fully support NRAW, and the second is that Nikon's ZR shoots in R3D.
RRI launched a brand new codec, ARRICORE, which is currently only used by the just as new ARRI ALEXA 35 Xtreme - a high-speed version of the ALEXA 35 with better pre-recording and 660 fps.
Coming Soon
As usual, we have a lot more in store in the coming months. Full ALE support in EditReady, more Workspaces magic in Mimiq, migrate LTO tapes, and more. But first, have a great end-of-year. See you in 2026 👋
Best,
The Hedge team
